Restaurant Wine Storage Installation Project for a High-End Restaurant in Florida
In August 2015, the Harbourside Place in Jupiter, Florida welcomed a new restaurant. Named “The Woods Jupiter: Sports and Dining Club”, the goal was to build a place where people can meet new friends, enjoy a sumptuous meal with wine, and watch sports on TV. They also wanted his restaurant to be elegant and impress people.
The team of contractors were looking for a professional designer and builder for this wine cellar project. They decided to hire Wine Cellar International to do the job. Our team’s goal was to create a commercial wine cellar design that would suit the high-end restaurant owned.

In this project, the wine cellar had to be built in a space facing the dining area. We customized the design to ensure that all of the details met the client’s requirements.
To complement the sophisticated restaurant, we used the metal rod system with a brushed stainless finish. We installed floor-to-ceiling metal wine racks to create a contemporary wine display. The bottles appear as if they are floating on air.
The bottles are displayed in a label-forward orientation with the labels facing out. This type of racking eliminates the need to flip the bottle to see the wine’s description. Remember that flipping the bottle will disturb the wine’s sediments. This will alter the wine’s chemical properties and result in off flavors.
Contemporary Wine Cellar Door and Dramatic Lighting System
The door is another important component in wine cellar construction. In this project, we installed glass doors framed with steel. This door style matched the metal wine racks and elegance of the restaurant.
We made sure that we chose the most suitable lighting system for the wine room. We intended to create a focal point in the dining area with well-lit yet subdued lighting effect in the wine cellar.

Climate-Control System for a Small Wine Room
At Wine Cellar International, we always aim for optimum storage conditions. We always make a careful assessment of the client’s needs before choosing the most suitable wine cellar cooling system.
Some factors that have to be considered when determining the type of refrigeration unit to be used for a certain project. These factors include:
- number of bottles intended to be stored and displayed in the wine cellar
- size, shape, and location of the wine room
- the overall appeal that the owner wants
- client’s budget
In this project, we utilized a water-cooled, split system, refrigeration unit. The condensing unit of a water-cooled refrigeration system cools itself with continuous flow water. This means that it does not require ventilation.
We included two separate zones. The white wines had to be stored at a lower temperature range (48 to 50 degrees Fahrenheit) while the red wines at a larger zone set up (60 to 62 degrees Fahrenheit).
